Using photography on your branded materials

The images used in marketing and communication materials should be relevant, but also fresh, vibrant and modern. The style should be bright, open and airy, and use natural lighting when possible.

We always encourage photos of real locations that reflect the true demographics of our patients. Photos portraying Duke Health team members should include Duke Health staff and should not be represented with stock photography. For photography that includes patients, be sure you have signed HIPPA consent forms from each patient included.

When choosing or taking photographs for your collateral, always keep diversity of gender, age, race and ethnicity in mind.

Make sure that you have full copyright access to all images you are using, and ensure photos used are high-resolution images.

View and download Duke Health photos available for use in our Images section. You can also select available stock photography from our gallery as you create templated materials. If you’re in need of a particular photo for your marketing piece that you can’t locate in our gallery, you can search Getty Images and contact us with the photo you'd like to use.
