Randall Arvay Ph.D., CISSP, PMP
Randall (Randy) Arvay, Ph.D. is the Chief Technology Officer for Duke Health. In his role, Arvay will lead the enhancement of cybersecurity measures, pioneer digital transformations for patient care, research and operations.
Arvay is an executive leader with a profound technical background in information technology and the strategic implementation of emerging technology. As Interim CTO, he was an integral part of the leadership team that spearheaded a landmark partnership with Microsoft and developed foundational IT infrastructure for our future in cloud and artificial intelligence.
Arvay previously served as Chief Information Security Officer at Duke Health and prior to joining Duke, Arvay served as Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Utah, and the University of Utah Health, in addition to a distinguished career as an officer in the U.S. Army.
Arvay holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the U.S. Military Academy, an Master of Science in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University, and A Doctor of Philosophy in Software Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. Arvay previously served as an Assistant Professor at the United States Naval Academy and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering.
