DURHAM, NC - The seventh annual Angels Among Us 5K and Family Fun Walk will be held Saturday, March 25, at Wallace Wade Stadium on the Duke University campus. All proceeds, including registration fees, go to benefit brain tumor research.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. for the race, and 9:00 a.m. for the walk. The certified 5K race starts at 8:00 a.m. and runs through Duke's west campus and the fun walk begins at 10:15 a.m. and is a beautiful stroll through the Sarah P. Duke Gardens.

The day features activities for the whole family including music, food, massage therapists, the Scrap Exchange, mascots, face painting, a children's clothing sale and many other children's activities. Prizes are awarded to the first and second place race winners, both male and female, the top three fundraisers in several categories and all participating children under 12 years of age.

There is a $20 registration fee, but participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $150 to help support research efforts for the Duke Brain Tumor Center of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Brain Tumor Program at Duke, established in 1937, was one of the first brain tumor research and clinical programs in the U.S. It is one of only three brain tumor research programs recognized by the National Institutes of Health and offers more active clinical trials than any other known treatment center. The Brain Tumor Center at Duke provides comprehensive care through research, clinical care and support services. More than 1,000 patients from all over the world are currently under the care of the Brain Tumor Center.
