The new Durham Early College of Health Sciences – a partnership of Duke Health, Durham Technical Community College and Durham Public Schools – is actively recruiting its first class of students for the fall of 2025.

Enrollment for the new early college begins in January for current eighth-grade students in Durham County, and informational sessions are being held regularly, including the “DPS Showcase of Schools” on Nov. 23 at N.C. Central University. Anyone who has or knows an eighth grader is encouraged to attend one of the information sessions or learn more here: https://www.dpsnc.net/domain/2980

The four-year early college, which is being built on the Durham Tech campus, will enable students to simultaneously earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree or workforce credential for aligned health care occupations in nursing, clinical research, surgical technology, or allied health. Upon graduation, qualified students will have an immediate opportunity to pursue jobs or research roles at Duke Health.
