DURHAM, N.C. - U.S. Rep. David Price, D-N.C., will tour a Duke University Medical Center laboratory Sept. 2 and meet with Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center researchers and physicians to discuss the battle against prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men.

"When Congress returns to Washington, I will be fighting to increase our country's commitment to biomedical research, including an increase for the National Institutes of Health," Price said. "We need to make sure institutions like Duke are able to continue their research into the prevention, treatment and eventual cure of prostate cancer."

The House will consider the budget for biomedical research for fiscal year 2000 when it returns from the summer recess.
