Media Advisory: Duke Children's Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Duke Children's Classic

DURHAM, N.C. -- The 2003 Duke Children's Classic, hosted by celebrity chairman Jeff Foxworthy, will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Duke Children's Classic. The celebrity-amateur golf tournament, which will be at the Duke University Golf Club, Route 751 and Science Drive, has raised millions of dollars for the Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center during the past three decades. This year's tournament has many new features for families, including: KidZone playing area, featuring area mascots and carnival activities; Duke Family Fun Run and Toddler Trot; Car Seat Safety Check; Youth Putting Contest; and "Walk with the Stars."
Additionally, a Pairings Party (Jeff and Gregg Foxworthy's Pig Pickin') will be held from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday, May 16 at the Hilton Durham and the Duke Children's Classic Celebrity Show will be held from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m., Saturday, May 17 at Page Auditorium on Duke's West Campus.
