DURHAM, N.C. – The physicians of Kernodle Clinic, Inc., one of the Triad region’s premier multi-specialty medical practices, have joined the Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC), Duke Medicine’s physician practice organization.
 
This affiliation, effective August 1, 2013, ensures that current and future Kernodle Clinic patients will continue to receive their medical care locally from their existing Kernodle physicians and other local providers while streamlining access and coordination of care, where needed, with the renowned specialty and subspecialty programs and faculty at Duke.
 
Kernodle providers and patients will also gain access to Duke Medicine’s new state-of-the-art electronic health record technology.
 
“The providers at Kernodle Clinic are among the best in North Carolina and the southeast region and we share a common commitment to enhancing the quality and scope of locally delivered medical care,” said Paul Newman, executive director of the PDC. “We both believe that this partnership will provide patients in Alamance and surrounding counties with the assurance that the excellent care they receive locally through Kernodle will be supported by the very best in specialized care when needed.”
 
Founded in 1949, Kernodle Clinic is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in North Carolina, with more than 40 physicians at four locations in Alamance County. Kernodle Clinic provides services in many specialties including internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, podiatry, rheumatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, pulmonology, sports medicine, physiatry, physical therapy and general surgery.

Kernodle Clinic patients will continue to see their physicians in the current Kernodle facilities and follow the existing process to schedule appointments. Likewise, Kernodle Clinic will continue to use Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington for its local medical and surgical care.
