DURHAM, N.C. -- The Trustee Committee for the Duke University Health System (DUHS) and the university trustees' executive committee Friday approved the final documents for a proposed affiliation between DUHS and Durham County Hospital Corp. (DCHC), the parent organization of Durham Regional Hospital. The action was taken in a joint closed session.

The Board of Trustees of DCHC approved the documents June 17, and they will be presented next to the Durham County commissioners for their approval, expected on June 22. If approved by the county, the partnership would become effective July 1.
