At Loud and Proud, a monthly singing group for people with Parkinson’s disease, patients combine discussion, speech exercises and singing to help keep their voices strong.

During their annual holiday singalong on Dec. 17, participants showed that although Parkinson’s can affect their ability to breathe and use their vocal cords, these challenges can't dampen their holiday spirit.

The free group is offered by Duke Health Speech Pathology in collaboration with Duke Arts and Heath. For more information, please contact speech pathologist Meredith Nye.
