Duke Health Breaks Ground on New Southpoint Facility

At a ceremony this morning, Dr. A. Eugene Washington, Chancellor of Duke University and President and CEO of Duke University Health System, joined senior leaders of the Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC) breaking ground on a new care facility located at Southpoint in Durham (117 E. Highway 54). The new building will be the first constructed by the PDC in its 85-year history.

Mark Newman, MD, President of the PDC, welcomed guests to the ceremony and Dr. Washington delivered remarks highlighting the PDC's importance to the future of Duke Health and the community it serves.

The PDC is the faculty practice of the Duke University Health System. It is the first, and one of the largest, academic multi-specialty group practices in the country. In addition to providing patient care, it conducts cutting-edge research and trains the health care workforce Duke Health will need in the future.
