Chancellor Washington, DUH President Sowers Host Employee Social
On Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 6, Duke University Hospital (DUH) employees gathered for a social and meet-and-greet event with Eugene Washington, MD, Chancellor for Health Affairs at Duke University and President and CEO of the Duke University Health System (DUHS), and DUH President Kevin Sowers, MSN, RN, FAAN.
Employees enjoyed cider, hot chocolate, apples, and cookies at the event.
"Our Duke University Hospital team members work tirelessly to provide highest-quality care to our patients and our communities, and they contribute significantly to Duke Health's success," Washington said. "I greatly enjoyed having the opportunity to spend this time with many of our hospital colleagues and to simply say 'thank you!'"
"It is important in the life of a busy organization to pause and say 'thank you' for the incredible contributions individuals and teams make in the lives of the community we serve," Sowers said.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, Washington hosted a social for Duke Regional Hospital employees. Social events are being planned in the new year for Duke Raleigh Hospital, and School of Medicine and School of Nursing faculty, staff, students and trainees.
