Duke Raleigh Hospital History

Duke Raleigh Hospital has long been a part of the Raleigh community. They started as Mary Elizabeth Hospital, a hospital and training school for nurses, in 1914. The hospital moved to its current location as Raleigh Community Hospital in 1978.

Duke Raleigh has been a part of the Duke University Health System since 1998. Their affiliation with one of the country's best health systems provides their patients with access to the most advanced technology and cutting-edge medicine available.

Duke Raleigh Hospital provides award-winning care and has received Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
