Associate Vice President, Heart and Vascular Services, DUHS
Sean Sondej is the Associate Vice President of Heart and Vascular Services at Duke University Health System.
Prior to this appointment in August 2012, Sondej has held many positions at Duke since his arrival as an administrative fellow in July 2003.
Upon completing his fellowship in 2005, Sondej became the Administrative Director of Strategic Operations, a position that he held for three years and that provided him a variety of experiences across the hospital and health system, including being a part of the development team for the Duke Medicine Pavilion hospital addition project. In February 2008, Sondej became the Associate Operating Officer for Med/Surg/Critical Care & Psychiatry Services, with the addition of Emergency Services in January 2009. In January 2010, Duke University Hospital modified the Associate Operating Officer titles to Vice President. In September 2011, Sean became the interim Associate Vice President for Cardiovascular Services for Duke University Health System, while retaining his vice president role with Emergency Services.
Sondej received his BS and MHA degrees from Cornell University.
